Another beautiful day! We headed Northwest today, to Ventura Beach. We explored the downtown area (while the kids complained that 69 degrees was freezing!!) and grabbed a bite to eat. Next, we were off to the beach to dangle our toes in the Pacific Ocean. This is the first time the kids have ever seen the Pacific and brrr....was it cold! The water temp was 62 degrees, much different then the 80+ they are use to experiencing in Marco Island (the Gulf Coast). Forget the temperature, they spent time playing in the sand and seeing who could last the longest in the cold water. We stayed and played for several hours, then checked out Ventura Harbor for dinner and headed back to Santa Clarita (where our hotel is). We saw some beautiful countryside, where apparently they grow lots of landscape items, lemon and orange trees for the rest of the Southwest! AND...only in California, can we be traveling down the highway and meet flashing lights which causes us to slow down and then realize it's a movie truck coming our way filming David Duchovny driving a Porshe! Tomorrow we are off to Hollywood, we'll see if any of these kids can be "discovered"!!
